EKZ Renewables (Deutschland) GmbH takes over wind park Garlipp IV in Germany

19. December 2017
EKZ Renewables (Deutschland) GmbH is expanding its wind power portfolio by taking over a wind park in Germany. The total of three wind turbines generate enough electricity every year to meet the needs of more than 5,000 households.

EKZ Renewables (Deutschland) GmbH is taking over the Garlipp IV wind park from the German UKA Group. The wind park is situated in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt or, more precisely, in Stendal district, which belongs to the city of Bismark, about 85 kilometres southeast of Hamburg. It consists of three Vestas V117 wind turbines with a total output of 10.4 megawatts. Garlipp IV came into operation this year and will generate almost 23 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per annum. That's enough to power 5000 average four-person households. EKZ Renewables (Deutschland) GmbH already owns the Garlipp I, II and III wind parks on the same site. The parties have agreed not to disclose the sale prices of the nine wind turbines.

The purchase of Garlipp IV gives EKZ Renewables (Deutschland) GmbH a majority shareholding in seven wind parks in Germany. The investment secures EKZ Renewables (Deutschland) GmbH long-term access to renewable energy.
